We were especially excited to join Molly and Chris for their Blackstone Rivers Ranch wedding in Idaho Springs, Colorado this summer. Back in January, we had so much fun with these two at their engagement session at NCAR Trail in Boulder. After getting to know them, we could tell their long awaited wedding day was going to be memorable.
Chris and Molly met at a college party and he was immediately smitten. Molly wasn’t so sure since she was actually there on a different first date! Luckily they hit it off shortly after that and have been together ever since. Chris popped the question on their six year anniversary of that party and completely surprised her during a weekend trip to Moab by proposing under the Delicate Arch!
On their wedding day, Molly spent a laid back morning at The Golden Hotel with her closest friends while Chris joined his friends for lunch at The Golden Mill alongside Clear Creek. The guys shared drinks in the limo on the way to the venue where everyone got ready. After exploding a bottle of bubbly with her bridesmaids, Molly’s friends were giddy with excitement as they helped her into her gown.
Molly and her dad shared an emotional first look, as her bridesmaids watched from afar, before she met Chris in private on the bridge overlooking the river. They took a quiet moment to share their own private vows in the forest beside the babbling creek.
Rain had not been in the forecast, so we were all surprised to see the dark storm clouds roll in unexpectedly. Since the radar looked unpredictable, they kicked off the ceremony earlier than anticipated. Chris fought back tears as Molly walked down the aisle. There were many personal touches to their ceremony making it extra special, as well as a notable and touching tribute to Molly’s cousin who recently passed away.
We took a few portraits by the river before Molly and Chris joined their guests at the reception. After a few sweet and emotional toasts to the newlyweds, these two hit the dance floor with their crew, making for one really fun evening to remember!
