Henderson Acres Wedding – Asheville Wedding Photos
We were truly honored to photograph my cousin Jordan’s October wedding to his fiancée, Abby, an unforgettable Henderson Acres wedding just outside of Asheville, North Carolina.
Jordan (better known to me as “cuz”) is the sweetest guy you will ever meet, and he has the biggest heart. In Abby, he has found his match, someone who is just as kind-hearted, loving, and sweet as he is. I am so grateful they’ve found soulmates in each other.
The day started full of that jittery excitement that only wedding mornings have. They both got ready at the venue. For this Henderson Acres wedding, the setup is so convenient, Abby had an upstairs suite to settle in, while Jordan got ready downstairs in the basement den.
Both of them were so nervous. I reminded them of what I’ve seen happen over and over again: once you do the first look and you finally see each other, everything falls into place. It’s a really grounding moment that allows you to catch up and take a deep breath before the day really gets rolling.
Their first look happened right in front of the house, and it was one of those moments that felt like the whole world paused for a second. Abby stepped outside onto the porch and walked up to Jordan. The second he turned and saw her, he was in disbelief, and soon in tears. It was a really beautiful, honest and unfiltered moment at their Henderson Acres wedding. After a few quiet minutes together (and a few deep breaths), we eased into portraits.
Then we transitioned into some group photos with the wedding party for this Henderson Acres wedding. This part of the day always carries high energy, and you can feel the momentum building when you’re reunited with your favorite people.
The ceremony was certainly the cherry on top with epic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains stretching beyond them as their backdrop. Jordan and Abby shared so many laughs during their wedding ceremony, and you could tell these two were made for each other. There were also a lot of tears and deep emotion that was present as they read their vows out loud to each other, a really special moment to witness.
After their Henderson Acres wedding ceremony, we wrapped up family photos quickly and guests mingled for a gorgeous cocktail hour where they got to enjoy the incredible views with a drink in hand! A Henderson Acres wedding has this naturally celebratory flow and the space invites people to gather and move around easily because everything is so close together!
One of the standout moments of their entire Henderson Acres wedding was their first dance on the deck, with the mountains in the background and everyone cheering them on. The energy was equal parts romance and pure hype as the song ended.
Jordan’s sister Jenna and her husband Dan gave emotional, heartfelt speeches, full of love, memories, and the kind of words that make you laugh through misty eyes. You could feel how deeply Jordan is loved, and how quickly Abby has been embraced by our family. From there, the night flowed effortlessly and the newlyweds were celebrated on the dancefloor by their favorite people, capping the night off with a colorful glowstick exit!
Jordan and Abby: I’m so grateful I got to be there, not just as your photographer, but as family. You two are something special and I’m so glad you found each other!
