Lyons Farmette Wedding – Lyons, CO

Same-Sex Lyons Farmette Wedding Photos

Sean and Noah’s Lyons Farmette wedding was a long time in the making, 17 years to be exact. That’s right these two had been together for a very long time. Just four days before their Lyons Farmette wedding, they celebrated 17 years together. Seventeen years of building a life together, making choices together, showing up for each other through all the ordinary days and the hard days. This was a different kind of celebration, a “look at everything we’ve built” kind of love that was being lived.

Their day was built around them, their people, their story, and the kind of celebration that feels easy and fun. The afternoon began getting ready in the airstream, which honestly feels like such a perfect Farmette detail, charming and playful. We took a few portraits of them in front of the Airstream and on the bridge after they got dressed, and then the day shifted into what they wanted most: time with people. Reconnecting with old friends before the ceremony was a huge part of the experience, and you could tell it filled them up. This Lyons Farmette wedding felt like it was designed around presence, being with the people you love, without the pressure to rush through it.

A Lyons Farmette wedding has a way of feeling both elevated and completely down-to-earth at the same time. It’s a tucked-away little farm property in Lyons with rustling cottonwood trees, gardens and flowers, and that relaxed kind of charm that makes you feel at home. The Farmette is known for being a four-acre farm venue with a flower farm, and plenty of animals to keep you company!

These two were both drawn to documentary-style coverage that’s organic and free-flowing. They wanted photos that feel like snippets of real life, and their priority was mood and moment. They wanted photos that represented everyone. They wanted to look back and see shared meals, kids playing, people laughing, the soft quiet moments in between. Most of all, they wanted their wedding to feel like a celebration of life, love, and togetherness.

Their ceremony was intimate and very emotional, with the most incredible flower arch by Indigo Flower Market. Officiated by a friend, and it centered their story, recounting the last 17 years together. Their vows made us cry. These two spoke from a place of deep knowing, having weathered life together and still choosing each other, every day.

Cocktail hour was where their “unconventional and playful” vision came alive in the best way. They had Betty the Beverage Burros, Bestie Ice Cream’s Truck, and a magician that made everyone lean in with interest. There was so much entertainment for their guests and exactly what they wanted their Lyons Farmette wedding to feel like. All was seamlessly coordinated by Kayla with Dahlia Events and Design!

One of the things Sean and Noah said they loved was the idea of everyone enjoying a meal together. And their dinner delivered that in the sweetest, most grounded way. There was a grand entrance, then this warm, intimate dinner that was just as they had envisioned: BBQ, summer air, and bubbly feel when you’re surrounded by people you trust. Their Lyons Farmette wedding reception felt like a beautiful dinner party, just… bigger and with better outfits! It was a moment in time, where, for a few hours, it felt like you didn’t have a worry in the world, just as Sean & Noah had hoped for.

The toasts were emotional and real, the kind of speeches that leave you thinking, wow, that person is the happiest I’ve seen them in years. That was something they specifically wanted from their photos: not just how the day looked, but how it felt. The mood of the moment and the gratitude that shows up when you realize you’re in the middle of something you’ll remember forever.

We couldn’t be happier for these two! Congratulations guys!
